Unit Studies
The Unit Studies Approach combines all subjects through the study of one topic, although they can be specific to a single subject. On occasion we “take a break” from our regular studies to enjoy learning about a subject that interests the entire family.
Unit studies can be created on your own or purchased from publishers who design studies specifically for homeschoolers, like Konos.
Ten Terrific Weeks by Usborne Books is a unit study program. Each program consists of a set of books, plus ideas/activities to do five days a week for ten weeks. Currently, there are eight programs; four for early elementary and three for upper elementary.

Developed for older kids, these programs integrate Usborne Internet links that make it easy to learn more about a particular subject. We have researched over 10,000 websites that are suitable for children and incorporated those in our books. These are child safe websites where we control the access electronically.
